I was given a great tool, from one of my teachers, which gave me the ability to test the people and situations in my life and
determine what actually was spiritual. This technique showed me how to activate my intuitive inner knowingness. If you have a
tendency to attract the "wrong" people and situations into your life, you might find great value in the utilization of this technique
and sidestep a lot of pain.

The basis action of this tool is "sending the light" and seeing if it comes back to you. We encounter two kinds of light in our lives:
"spiritual light" and "magnetic light". Human beings have a life energy associated with their physical body. On some level, we all
sense the life energy of the people around us and that life energy is affecting how we feel. For the purpose of this discussion, I will
define that life energy as "the magnetic light". When we are not discerning, we tend to easily surrender to people who connect with
us via this magnetic light. Charisma and personal magnetism are by-products of the "magnetic light". "Spiritual light" on the other
hand, is the light of creation as extended into a human. We are not talking about an either/or situation. Magnetic light is actually a
lower projection of spiritual light. Someone who connects with you via the spiritual light will also project magnetic light. But this
person will also exhibit an awareness of being part of all life and, in specific, part of you. You are an extension of them, and to hurt
you would be to hurt part of themselves. They operate out of a consciousness of the "highest good of all concerned.

So how can you tell the difference? People with high levels of magnetic light can make you feel very good in their presence but you
feel empty when you are not with them. It's easy to become addicted to being in their presence, as in the case with a "magnetic"
love affair. When someone is connecting with you via the "spiritual light", his energy, will stay with you after you leave their
presence. You feel their love on an ongoing basis rather than just when you're with them. In fact, once the connection is made, you
can have a friend for life.

You can test the relationships in your life by this process called "sending the light". Think of someone you know and imagine your
light and love extending to and surrounding him or her. If you truly have a spiritual connection with that person, you will feel the
light and love come back to you as an upliftment in your own heart. If you don't feel that upliftment, the chances are you have a
magnetic, rather than spiritual tie to that person.

Spiritual relationships transcend worldly things. They go on forever as long as all the parties stay true and worthy. Magnetic
relationships, based on a common interest or bond usually end when the common interest is no longer a factor. Do you still feel a
connection with your former lovers or employers? Perhaps they were just magnetic connections. Take a moment and evaluate the
relationships in your life. Are they spiritual or are they magnetic? Begin to be conscious of the types of relationships around you
and develop people who will reflect your spiritual light back to you.

In addition, when you send the spiritual light to someone, you are also assisting him or her in their upliftment and healing. Take a
few of your free moments during the day and send the light. Send the light to your friends, to your family, to the earth, and all of
creation. At first you may think you are just doing this in your imagination but over a period of time, your life will change. Your
heart will open, you will experience more joy, develop more meaningful relationships, and become part of the team helping to
manifest heaven on earth in this new millennium. You will learn how to have an active and participatory role with the intangible part
of yourself connected to God and all of life.

If you've been hurt or mislead due to being involved in "magnetic light" relationships, forgive the person for their use of this
energy, thank them silently for the lessons in discernment and move on. There are people holding the "spiritual light," who are
waiting to assist you in your healing process when you are ready. And you will recognize them because now you know how to
test them.

"Sending the light" is one of the most powerful tools on the planet - a silent method of projecting your love and healing life.
Anyone can do it anywhere and anytime. Try it. You'll like it.
